Employee Spotlight : Phil Zarb
AMS Congratulates Phil Zarb as he approaches his 5-year anniversary with the company!
Phil is an Electrical Engineer at AMS who supports the cable and hardware groups. He has worked on several research and development projects and regularly travels to perform cable testing in various nuclear power plants worldwide. Most recently, he has served as the project manager for a Wi-Fi mapping project at a customer plant and as the project manager for a recently concluded U.S. Department of Energy Small Business Innovation Research Phase II project entitled Distributed Antenna System for Wireless Communication in Nuclear Power Plants.
Though he is originally from New Jersey, Phil grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. He moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee for electrical engineering and decided to stay because of all the outdoor activities. Prior to working at AMS, Phil worked with his dad building custom houses in East Tennessee.
Phil and his wife Sheena have two beautiful children, Oryon (8) and Jasper (5), along with a number of pets including two dogs (Maya and Grimm), a cat, 10 chickens, and two beehives with approximately 100,000 – 150,000 bees! Their family loves spending time outdoors; you can typically find them camping, hiking, or biking. Phil is also an avid mountain biker. He is an assistant coach for a youth cycling team and is a member of two local mountain biking clubs, one of which is about to be on the board of.
Phil is a great team leader and is always happy to share his experiences and lessons learned with his colleagues. His great communication skills and sense of humor make him a joy to work with and a wonderful asset for the company. Congratulations on this milestone, Phil! We appreciate all that you do for AMS and our customers.
