Employee Spotlight: Patrick Ward - 5 Years
AMS congratulates Patrick Ward as he celebrates his five-year anniversary with the company!
Patrick is a Chemical Engineer in our Cable Services Group. You can typically find him in the Materials Science Laboratory studying the effects of cable insulation polymer degradation, on the road supporting the Cable and Technical Service Groups as a field engineer to verify the performance of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems in commercial nuclear power plants, or furthering the research and development (R&D) efforts of the company.
Patrick was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN and attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville (Wings Up!) where he graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Prior to AMS, Patrick spent two years as a Process Engineer for Colortech, Inc., helping to manufacture color, additive concentrate, and masterbatch formulations for various plastic-based products (grocery store bags, milk jugs, scented trash bags, and everything in between).
Though the only thing he knew about Knoxville was the existence of a certain Orange/White university with an affinity for football, he ended up moving to the city with his wife Monica who has spent most of her life in the area. He was raised a Notre Dame football fan, but his friends and AMS colleagues have slowly converted him into a fan of those loveable Volunteers! In addition to being near his new favorite team, Patrick and his wife also enjoy being close to their immediate families and close friends in Knoxville and Chattanooga.
Patrick and Monica have two beautiful children, Josephine and Daniel, who bring immense joy to their lives. The family enjoys spending time outdoors, whether in the backyard or on a hiking trail. Patrick has also completed a few woodworking projects and dabbles in the hobby whenever he gets the chance. Patrick also enjoys spontaneous trips to new places, discovering the best bagel and doughnut shops in the area with his children, reading a good book, and listening to a good album on vinyl.
When asked about his past 5 years at AMS, Patrick said, “I’ve really enjoyed working with the Cable Services Group and giving my best impersonation of an Electrical Engineer, Materials Scientist, and Field Service Technician these past five years. I have learned a lot while working at AMS and have met incredible people who help fill the days with laughter and friendship.”
Patrick is an incredible asset to AMS and a wonderful person to work with. In addition to his varied skill set which he uses to contribute to multiple areas of the company, he is always kind, optimistic, and available to help anyone who needs it. Thank you for five years, Patrick. Congratulations on this milestone!
