Congratulations to our awesome Human Resources Manager, MACI WHITSON, as she marks her fifth anniversary with AMS last month. Maci came on board AMS following her graduation from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Maci leads the charge for all HR efforts at AMS, including recruitment and networking activities, staff hiring, employee onboarding, personnel performance, state and federal reporting and compliance, developing and maintaining company policies and benefits, and more.
Originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, Maci attended East Tennessee State University (ETSU) for 2 years before transferring to UT. While at ETSU she worked for the Office of Professional Development where she created and maintained summer learning programs for kids and teens. During her time at UT, she worked for the Graduate School of Medicine in the Forensics Department running SQL queries for their morgue database.
Maci and her fiancée Chris Ostrouchov originally met at a party during their freshman year of college. During her first UT campus career fair for AMS, they ended up having booths beside each other. Chris was representing the Materials Science and Engineering Department for his grad work at UT. He asked if she wanted to see crystal structures made out of playdough and toothpicks … it was love at first sight! They are getting married this September 2020. Maci loves true crime podcasts and participates in book clubs. She is also an avid pet and plant parent. Together, her and Chris have a dog named Margot. They love to go to local events, as well as travel and take fun weekend trips whenever they can.
