AMS honors GREG MORTON as he marks 25 YEARS of loyal service to the company this past February. Greg has been a pillar employee and a significant contributor to AMS’s growth and many successes since 1995 when he began as one of five software developer engineers. In 1997 he became AMS’s Software Development Manager, a position he held for nearly 20 years until 2016, when he was promoted to Chief Technical Officer. A vital part of the executive management team, Greg is a Certified LabVIEW Architect and is responsible for all software and hardware development activities for the company.
Among the numerous responsibilities Greg takes on for AMS, he oversees the company’s SBIRs to make sure they are technically on track for success; he is currently the principle investigator for a $1M Phase II SBIR. In addition to approving results for AMS’s core business activities and any troubleshooting issues that may arise in the field, Greg also assists the Quality Assurance Manager in verifying quality reports, documentation, and pre-trip briefings.
Greg attended Tennessee Technological University where he received two B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 1992 and a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1995. He spent two years during college in the late 1980s at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN, where he worked on display software for turbine engine testing and oversaw instrumentation connections and data review of testing rocket engines.
Greg grew up in Manchester, TN. He has two daughters—Kaeley, 17 (11th grade), and Ella, 14 (8th grade). In his free time, he enjoys exercising, playing volleyball (he is a member of several volleyball leagues), and disc golf. Over the past few years he has taken up running; he ran four half-marathons last year alone.
CONGRATULATIONS TO GREG MORTON FOR REACHING THIS AMAZING MILESTONE.
