AMS Celebrates Winners of ANS Awards
AMS had the pleasure of hosting a dinner reception in honor of this year’s American Nuclear Society (ANS) Top Tier Award winners during the 2021 ANS Winter Meeting. Dr. Hash Hashemian, Chairman of the ANS Honors and Awards (H&A) Committee, hosted and sponsored the event of nearly 60 attendees at RPM Italian in Washington, DC on December 1, 2021.
The Guest of Honor for the evening was Dr. Ernest Moniz, recipient of the 2021 Dwight D. Eisenhower Medal. Dr. Moniz served as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under President Obama. The recipient of the 2021 Seaborg Medal, Dr. John C. Browne, and the recipient of the 2021 Walter H. Zinn Medal, Dr. Jose N. Reyes, Jr., were also honored as well as members recently elevated to the grade of ANS Fellow:
