AMS offered members of the Adventures in STEM girls camp an opportunity to learn about electricity, nuclear power, and electromagnetism through discussions and hands on activities with AMS staff members, as well as a tour of AMS’ laboratory. Adventures in STEM is an outreach program designed to encourage an interest in science, mathematics, and engineering among 7th and 8th grade girls. The program is conducted by the University of Tennessee and CURENT, a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center that is jointly supported by National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy.
