AMS’s Adam Deatherage Elected Secretary of ANS HFICD
Adam Deatherage, an Applications Engineer at Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation (AMS), has just been elected Secretary of the Human Factors, Instrumentation and Controls Division (HFICD) of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). His one-year term will begin at the conclusion of the ANS Annual Meeting taking place June 12 – June 16, 2022.
The HFICD brings together over 800 experts from all sectors of the nuclear field with the common goal of improving task performance, system reliability, system and personnel safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. The division is devoted to the human component of nuclear technology and the instrumentation, control, and human-machine interface technologies that support the safe operation of nuclear facilities.
Mr. Deatherage has been an active member of ANS and the HFICD since 2019. He has previously served as an executive committee member of HFICD and the chair of its communications committee. Additionally, he has presented several papers at numerous ANS meetings and has served as Chair or co-Chair on multiple panels and technical sessions.
When asked about his newly elected position, Mr. Deatherage said, “I am deeply honored to represent my colleagues in this position. I look forward to working with the rest of the executive committee to help support the Human Factors and I&C fields within Nuclear and I am excited to see what the future holds.”
