Employee Spotlight : Shawn Tyler
AMS Congratulates Shawn Tyler as he approaches his 5-year anniversary with the company!
Shawn is a Research Engineer that does a bit of everything. He spends a lot of time supporting multiple research projects. You can find him building test setups, running experiments in the various AMS labs, or researching new ideas. When he isn’t performing work on-site, he is traveling worldwide to perform testing in nuclear power plants.
Before joining AMS, Shawn worked as an HVAC-R technician for his father’s company where he serviced restaurants and commercial buildings. He is originally from Memphis, TN but moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee. After graduating with a degree in nuclear engineering, he liked the small city vibe so much that he decided to stay.
Shawn currently spends his free time reading books, studying history or cultures, learning Spanish, and playing games with friends. He has a lot of good friends with different backgrounds and hobbies, so spending time with them is always fun. He is also a very adventurous eater and loves trying new cuisines, forcing his friends and family to come along for the ride.
Shawn is a true jack of all trades in the research group and is always happy to help his colleagues in any department. He is a great asset to the company, and we are excited to see how else he will grow. Congratulations on this milestone!
