AMS recognizes Trevor Toll as he marks his 5th anniversary with the company this past April 1, 2019. As Lead Engineer for AMS’s Materials Testing Laboratory, Trevor primarily works on developing condition monitoring technologies under AMS’s ongoing R&D projects to test the health of electrical cables and their insulation polymers. In addition to cable and insulation polymer testing, Trevor also assists with in-field testing and troubleshooting of electrical cables for nuclear power plant instrumentation and control (I&C) systems as well as technical work for R&D projects related to development of I&C testing technologies for small modular reactors.
Trevor received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 2012. He and his wife Sarah lived in Seattle for a couple years while he completed his Masters degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. Born in Memphis and raised in Collierville, Trevor eventually wanted to move closer to home and returned to Tennessee with Sarah, settling in Knoxville. Together they enjoy spending time going to local festivals and events and playing with their two year old son Henry. They have two pets—a dog named Charlie and a cat named Hook.
Trevor is involved with several professional societies, including serving as treasurer for the Oak Ridge Chapter of ASM International (i.e., the Materials Information Society). He is an avid UT football and basketball fan, as well as a fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders, and New York Yankees.
