AMS recently held a five-day comprehensive training course on Testing & Troubleshooting of I&C Systems for Nuclear Facilities at its main headquarters in Knoxville from August 20–24, 2018. Designed for utilities, vendors, educators, and regulators involved with nuclear power plants, research reactors, fuel fabrication facilities, national and international laboratories, and universities, the course had more than 60 attendees hailing from countries across the globe, including United Arab Emirates, France, China, Bolivia, and South Korea.
Conducted under the direction of AMS President, Dr. H.M. Hashemian, and taught by senior AMS engineers with 10 to 25 years of experience in nuclear power plant I&C and related topics, the training course spanned over five full days of lectures, interactive discussions, workshops and hands-on demonstrations with state-of-the-art test equipment.
In addition, Mr. David Lillis, former Senior I&C Engineer at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Plant in England, served as a guest lecturer on one of the afternoons. On the second night, course attendees and AMS staff enjoyed a cocktail and dinner reception held in AMS’ newly opened modern laboratory facility, with live music entertainment and delicious catered food and drink enjoyed by all.
