On January 18, 2018, AMS Corporation President and CEO Dr. Hash Hashemian was officially sworn in as a Representative to the Tennessee Energy Policy Council following his recent appointment by Governor Bill Haslam. The newly created state energy policy council is designed to provide advice to the governor and the general assembly on how to ensure a safe and stable energy supply through the identification of all viable energy resources within the state, how to properly manage these resources, and how to effectively improve the state’s energy production and development. Members of the 13-member council represent all aspects of energy production, distribution, and consumption within the state and include representatives from TVA, local utilities, universities, and environmental groups. All council members are appointed by the governor, the speaker of the house, or the speaker of the senate, are residents of the state, and will serve three-year terms.
