AMS is once again celebrating an unprecedented successful year that has been marked with numerous accomplishments including hiring 17 new engineers and support personnel to add to its fast-growing workforce.
AMS Corporation President and CEO Dr. Hash Hashemian was elevated to the distinguished grade of Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his exceptional leadership in developing technologies for nuclear reactor monitoring. The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
Brent Shumaker was awarded ISA Fellow in the Power Industry Division for his significant contributions to the development and implementation of online technologies to assess the health and remaining useful life of critical components in nuclear power plants.
AMS is making significant progress on the construction of a third building, representing a major expansion to its main technology campus headquarters. Construction is slated for completion by late spring 2018. This $5 million testing and research and development (R&D) facility will add 15,000 square feet of new office and laboratory space to AMS’ existing headquarters, including housing a $1 million electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) chamber.
AMS also celebrated its 40th anniversary this July. Dr. Hash Hashemian helped start Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation 40 years ago on July 18, 1977, as a spin-off from a graduate project with the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Originally, AMS was headquartered in a small building in West Knoxville. The current AMS campus spans over 100,000 square feet of office, laboratory and expansion space. AMS has a team of around 100 highly skilled employees with growth projections of more than 30% over the next few years.
