On September 6 and 7, the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) and the U.S. Nuclear Infrastructure Council held the Nuclear Suppliers Workshop at the Pollard Technology Conference Center in Oak Ridge, TN.
Dr. Hashemian was invited as a guest speaker at the event. His presentation focused of the future on nuclear energy. He spoke to a group of manufacturing companies interested in supporting existing nuclear facilities and upcoming nuclear construction projects in the Southeastern U.S.
Representatives from organizations in the nuclear industry came to hear over 30 speakers and to learn about potential business opportunities. The workshop included a reception where community and business leaders mingled with conference attendees, as well as tours of several prominent facilities in Oak Ridge: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Y-12 National Security Complex/Centrus Energy, and ORNL’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility.
