The British government has officially signed a contract with EDF, a French state-owned power provider, to begin work on the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in southwest England. The contract included a price tag of over $20 billion. With the first unit expected to be operational by 2026, the project marks the first nuclear power plant to be built in England in nearly 20 years.
